About Julie Harvey
Julie Harvey is a Chartered Accountant (SA) having qualified in 1998. Julie studied at the University of Natal and served articles at KPMG. She obtained invaluable tax experience at Mitchells’ Chartered Accountants in Pietermaritzburg. Julie worked in commerce for a short period of time and found herself drawn back to public practice. Julie joined Berriman Accounting Services CC, which later merged with Warmingtons Incorporated. She was one of the directors of this newly merged company. In 2011 she set up her own practice with a view to diversifying the services she offers. Apart from the traditional services offered by chartered accountants, Julie offers specialised payroll outsourcing. She has also created key relationships with service providers to ensure that her clients are utilising their resources efficiently and effectively to streamline their processes and minimise their input. Julie’s objective is to provide a personal and holistic service. Julie’s experience includes auditing and consulting to small and medium sized businesses across a wide spectrum of industries. She is passionate about the sustainability of small and medium businesses. She has always been actively involved in the training of trainee accountants with SAICA and with SAIPA. Julie has an advanced taxation certificate.
She serves as Treasurer of Laddsworth Governing Body. Her business is a member of the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Business. She is also a member of the Institute of Business Advisers with a view to mentoring small businesses.
